Euridge Manor had been on my list of venues I wanted to film at ever since I started my career. It has to be one of the most incredible venues I've filmed at as a Cotswolds wedding videographer.
It’s one of those places that seems to be on every wedding videographer’s wish list. It’s luxurious, completely unique and genuinely one of the most impressive wedding venues I’ve worked at in the UK.
Vicky and John’s wedding was my first time filming there properly, so I was excited from the moment I arrived.
The morning started with Vicky and the girls, and it couldn’t have been more relaxed. It was quiet, calm and there was none of the usual morning chaos.
Even better, they had their two sausage dogs with them — a brown and tan dachshund and a golden long-haired one — which was always going to win me over straight away.
Vicky had some incredible details for the morning.
We took everything away to create a flat lay, including her jewellery, invitations, wedding breakfast menus, blue shoes and the pearls she was going to wear in her hair.
It all came together really beautifully.
Her veil was another standout detail. It was incredibly elegant and worked perfectly with the rest of her look.
Once we’d finished filming the details, I spent some time walking around Euridge Manor getting establishing shots and getting a feel for the venue.
That’s one of my favourite parts of arriving somewhere new because it gives me a chance to understand the layout before the day really gets going.
Euridge is almost ridiculous in that respect because every corner seems to give you another shot.
The lake behind the house is one of the highlights, and there was even a little family of white ducks swimming around, which made for some great footage.
I also managed to get plenty of drone shots, which really helped show the scale of the venue.
John got ready with the guys in the Orangery.
The light in there was incredible.
The room had warm orange-toned walls with loads of natural light coming through, so visually it worked really well on camera.
The atmosphere was completely different to the calm bridal prep upstairs. The guys were having a laugh, and John had bought each of them a matching Hermès tie, which was a great little detail.
Once they were ready, I went back to Vicky where the champagne had started flowing and everyone was getting ready for the ceremony.
The ceremony was set up on the top lawn overlooking the pond and the boathouse.
The chairs were arranged in more of a semi-circle, which made the ceremony feel intimate while still making the most of the view.
It’s easily one of the most beautiful outdoor ceremony settings I’ve filmed.
You could see how impressive it was from the guests’ reactions as they arrived through the archway.
Before heading down, we took Vicky into one of the corridors inside the house where there are huge tall windows.
The natural light was beautiful.
We positioned her close to one of the windows, with the light falling across her dress while the rest of the corridor stayed much darker. The contrast looked incredible for both photo and video.
Vicky’s mum then helped her finish getting into her dress before everyone made their way down towards the ceremony.
A string quartet played as guests came down the steps, followed by Vicky’s two sausage dogs, and then Vicky and her dad.
John’s reaction when he saw her coming down the aisle said everything.
He was clearly emotional, and moments like that are exactly what I love capturing.
After the ceremony, Vicky and John walked back up the aisle together with both dogs, which was a lovely way to finish it.
Straight after the ceremony we moved into confetti.
We positioned everyone so the backdrop worked beautifully and then went straight into a champagne tower.
It’s such a simple addition to a wedding day, but visually it works so well and gives everyone another moment to gather around and celebrate.
The drinks reception then continued on the lawn near the chandelier, which gave guests somewhere beautiful to mingle, have a drink and enjoy the grounds.
After that, we took Vicky and John away for couple portraits.
This was where Euridge really came into its own.
The two of them got into the boat and headed out onto the pond, which gave both me and the photographer some amazing opportunities.
John turned out to be pretty good at rowing too, which definitely helped.
It’s one of those locations where you don’t really need to force anything — you just put the couple into the environment and let the venue do a lot of the work.
The wedding breakfast space looked incredible.
The room was laid out with long trestle tables arranged in a U-shape, and everything felt elegant without being overdone.
The speeches were really heartfelt and emotional, which always gives me so much to work with when building the final film.
Great speeches can completely shape the storytelling of a wedding video because they allow me to layer meaningful words over moments from earlier in the day.
For the evening, Vicky changed into a second dress.
We took Vicky and John away again for another short set of couple portraits, which gave us a completely different look from the earlier footage.
Then it was into the cake cut and first dance.
They had a live band playing in the evening and had put together a choreographed first dance with lifts, spins and plenty of movement.
I love when couples do something like this because it gives the first dance so much more energy visually.
Once the guests joined them, the party properly got going and stayed that way for the rest of the night.
Euridge Manor lived up to everything I’d hoped it would be.
From a wedding filmmaker’s point of view, there is almost too much to work with — the gardens, the lake, the boathouse, the Orangery, the architecture, the ceremony space and all the little details around the estate.
But what made the wedding work so well wasn’t just the venue.
Vicky and John were relaxed, welcoming and completely happy to enjoy the day without making it feel over-produced.
From their dogs walking down the aisle, to the boat ride, champagne tower, second dress and choreographed first dance, there were so many moments throughout the day that made it feel personal to them.
It’s a wedding I’ll always remember, and I’d absolutely love to film at Euridge Manor again.
