I'm Dan, a UK-based destination wedding videographer creating natural, cinematic and story-led wedding films across Europe. I've been lucky enough to travel with my cameras to some incredible places, including weddings in Italy, France & Greece, and destination weddings have become some of my favourite celebrations to capture.
There's something completely different about bringing everyone you love together somewhere away from home. Guests have travelled to be there, people often stay for several days and the wedding becomes part of a much bigger experience rather than simply one day. That's what I want to capture.
Of course, getting married somewhere beautiful gives me an incredible backdrop to work with, but I don't want your film to simply be a collection of pretty shots of Europe. The people, voices, emotion and little moments happening around you will always be more important.
My approach is relaxed and unobtrusive, allowing the day to unfold naturally while I document it. I want your film to remind you where you were, who was there and, most importantly, exactly what it felt like to experience it together.
Italy is one of those places that almost feels made for weddings. The architecture, old streets, countryside, food, warm evenings and slightly slower pace of everything create an atmosphere that's difficult to replicate anywhere else. Having travelled to Italy multiple times to film weddings, it's somewhere I'd happily return to again and again.
From a filmmaking perspective, what I love most isn't necessarily the obvious shots. Of course, incredible landscapes and beautiful Italian architecture look amazing on film, but I'm equally interested in everything happening around the wedding itself.
Guests wandering through old streets, people sitting outside eating together, conversations over dinner, glasses being poured and that incredible evening light all help establish a sense of place.
If you've chosen to travel all the way to Italy to get married, I want you to be able to watch your film years later and immediately feel like you're back there.
The location should become part of the story without ever becoming more important than the people you've brought there to celebrate with you.

France brings something completely different to a destination wedding.
From historic châteaux and countryside estates to beautiful old towns and the Mediterranean atmosphere of the south, there are so many different ways a wedding in France can look and feel.
I've had the opportunity to travel to France on many occasions to film weddings & Elopements, and it's exactly the kind of environment I naturally love working in. Old buildings, beautiful gardens, outdoor dinners and locations with character all suit the way I like to create films.
Whenever I'm filming somewhere new, I'll take time to explore the venue and its surroundings. I'm always looking for the smaller details as well as the obvious views — the architecture, light, landscape and anything else that helps establish where we are.
But ultimately, a beautiful French venue is still only the setting.
The film is about the people inside it.
It's your family seeing you for the first time, your friends laughing over dinner, the words spoken during your ceremony and speeches and everything that happens once everyone forgets I'm standing there with a camera.

There aren't many places that look quite like Greece on film.
The Mediterranean landscape, beautiful light, coastline and incredible sunsets give you an amazing backdrop before the wedding has even started. As a wedding filmmaker, it's difficult not to get excited when you arrive somewhere like that with a camera.
But again, the location is only one part of it.
What I really want to capture is what happens when you bring all your favourite people together within that setting.
Friends and family arriving from different parts of the world, everyone sitting outside together, speeches as the sun disappears, music, dancing and the point later in the evening where everyone completely forgets they're being filmed.
Those moments are what give the beautiful establishing shots some meaning.
My approach to filming a destination wedding in Greece is the same as anywhere else I travel. I'll make the most of the incredible surroundings, but I'm not going to spend hours dragging you around creating shots while everyone else enjoys your wedding.
I'd much rather you actually experience it.
I'll be there quietly capturing what happens.

You definitely don't need to live in Europe to book me.
I've worked with couples travelling internationally for their weddings, including American couples who have travelled across the Atlantic to get married here in the UK,. so I'm completely comfortable with the planning happening from thousands of miles away.
Most things can be organised remotely before you travel. We can talk over video calls and email, and if you're working with a destination wedding planner, I'm more than happy to communicate directly with them and the other suppliers involved in your wedding.
Being based in the UK also puts me in a great position for weddings throughout Europe. Italy, France, Greece and many other European destinations are relatively easy for me to reach without you needing to bring a filmmaker all the way across the Atlantic.
Whether you're planning your wedding from the USA, Canada, Australia, or somewhere else entirely, the distance doesn't need to make things complicated.
You concentrate on bringing everyone together and planning an incredible few days.
I'll worry about getting myself and my cameras there.

Wherever in Europe you're planning to get married, my approach remains pretty simple.
I don't want you spending your wedding day thinking about your wedding film.
I want you drinking with your friends, sitting outside for far too long over dinner, hugging people you haven't seen in ages, listening to the speeches, watching the sunset and actually experiencing the place you've brought everyone to.
Most of my time is spent quietly documenting those moments as they happen.
We'll always find a little time to create some beautiful footage of the two of you, particularly if the evening light decides to play nicely, but I'm never interested in turning your wedding into a production or disappearing with you for hours.
The beautiful surroundings give us the backdrop.
Your people give us the story.
